Hello,

Are there any study groups for the APTD certification meeting virtually or in person currently? If so, I would live to join one.  I am taking the certification in late March of this year.

Thank you,

Carey

Hi Carey. This is a great time to search out a Chapter Study Group as they are starting up for 2025. These are virtual, last approximately 11 weeks, and are open to nonmembers. Here are the current offerings for APTD and CPTD. There are currently more for CPTD study and the APTD groups will develop again soon. The current APTD offering for Kansas City is well-established and offers a dynamic format for absorbing the content. The ATD Chapters offer these independently so check back to see if other groups are added in the next month. Hope it works out!

Check out the Rocky Mountain Chapter. They partner with a number of chapters, which could keep your cost down. I believe they are hosting a free info session on February 18th at 6:30 CT.

First of all---congratulations on taking the step towards your credentialing.  I sat for my CPTD last year and do not regret it at all.

I did my study prep with the Ann Arbor chapter of ATD.  Here's a link to their page.  I also heard great things about the ATD Kansas City study group that @Jennifer Witebsky references below (here's their page).  @Sally Koppy could give you more information about their group.

You also have an amazing network of new friends through this community that have achieved their APTD and CPTD credentials.  We are all here to support you!

Hi Carey,

You are welcome to join a Multi-Chapter Study Group hosted by the Kansas City chapter.  We use a self-study portal with weekly assignments and then meet for an hour on Wednesday nights from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. Our cohort focuses on both the CPTD and APTD and identifies the capability statements to study for each.

Ready to learn more? Come to our informational session this Wednesday at 6:30 PM - you can register here: https://tdkc.org/event-5956840

Ready to sign up for the Spring Cohort? We have orientation on January 29 and then the Spring Cohort runs February 5 to May 21 and you can register here: https://tdkc.org/event-5956821

Best wishes on your certification!

I highly recommend the Kansas City Chapter's study group. I joined them and recently passed my CPTD. Best wishes on your venture.

Check out centralmassatd.org . We meet virtually on Tuesday evenings using a rotating subject model.  Every thirteen weeks the cycle restarts so you can join whenever and jump in for topics on which you need the most help.  We are not restrictive to location and actually are international.  :)

Jill Kasten, our VP Professional Development runs the group which is intentionally interactive.
