Here's a download of action verbs attempting to align Depth-of-Knowledge (DOK) and Bloom's Taxonomy (note the key word: attempting). Broken into four categories - cognitive, digital, affective, and psychomotor (yes, digital could be considered psychomotor but it is the space I work in). After six years, I believe a few if my executive leaders are seeing the light not to use the word "understand".
Thanks for sharing, this is a great resource. Love the outcome vs objective explanation.
This is a good start Glenda and I would recommend a few adjustments. There should be no use of the 1956 learning levels as those were based on nouns and not verbs. The Lorin Anderson (2001) revision should be credited a bit more because it introduced verbs as learning levels i.e. Knowledge vs Remembering.
Isn't Bloom's Taxonomy purely cognitive domain based and other taxonomies should be called upon to address affective (Krathwohl) or psychomotor (Simpson)?
I would say that if the purpose is to provide instruction for measurable outcomes, Mager's Preparation of Behavioral Objectives offers a more complete picture for the Educator.
Thanks for sharing Glenda. I love the clarification between the learning outcome vs learning objective.
Wonderful resource! Thank you for sharing!
Great resource Glenda, thank you. How would this be best referenced?
This is a great resource. Thanks for sharing. I love how it explains what a Learning Objective is versus a Learning Outcome. It is also great to see the level at which learning is expected (recall versus apply at a specific level) is displayed.
This is a nice resource. Especially for someone new to the development world.
